CUSTOM FOOD LABELS

UPLOAD FILES AT CHECKOUT

100% Satisfaction Guarantee

SMALL BATCH OR FULL PRODUCTION RUN โ€” YOU GET THE SAME LABEL
  • Exact sizes at no extra charge โ€” die cut fees apply only to non-standard shapes
  • Order 50 or 50,000 โ€” the print method and material stay identical, so your second run matches your first
  • Free prepress checks before anything goes on press โ€” we catch the problems, not your customer
  • Made to measure โ€” your label is built to your jar, not trimmed to fit a stock die

Day 1 โ€” Quote and artwork. Send us your dimensions and artwork, or just your container. We will tell you what will actually work on it.

Day 2โ€“3 โ€” Free prepress. We check bleed, resolution, fonts, colour build and die shape, then send you a report and a proof.

Day 4โ€“10 โ€” Print and finish. Your labels are printed, laminated and cut to your die.

Delivery โ€” free shipping. Tracked, to your door.

VALUE ADDED SERVICES ON EVERY ORDER!

On every order, every time โ€” no minimum, no fuel surcharge, no “oversize” exception.

A real person opens your file and checks it against the die before we print. If something is going to cause a problem, you hear about it while it is still fixable.

Talk to someone who has printed labels for products like yours. Bring the container if you have it.

Any size at no extra charge, and a low fee for a genuinely custom shape. If your jar is an unusual size, that costs you nothing.

It has to sell the product on a crowded shelf, and it has to carry everything a regulator expects to find, in the right place, at the right size. Get the first part right and the second part wrong and your run is scrap. We print the first part, and we will tell you when the second part is heading for trouble.

100% CUSTOM FOOD LABELSโ€”BIG VALUE, NO HIDDEN FEES

No diecut fees. No plate fees. No minimum that forces you into a year of stock. Whether you are labelling 200 jars of small-batch preserve or 40,000 pouches of granola, the price you are quoted is the price you pay.

WHAT HAS TO BE ON A FOOD LABEL

These are the six elements a US food label is expected to carry. We are printers, not your regulatory advisor โ€” but we have set up enough food artwork to know where these usually go wrong.

The common name of the food, on the principal display panel, in bold type reasonably related to the largest print on the label. This is the one people design around rather than design in โ€” a beautiful brand name set large with the actual product name set tiny underneath is the most common thing we flag.

Bottom 30% of the principal display panel, in both US customary and metric. Designers routinely centre it or tuck it into the ingredient panel because it looks tidier. It needs to be in the lower third, with enough clear space around it to stay legible.

Every ingredient by its common name, heaviest first, with sub-ingredients in parentheses. This is usually the block that forces a bigger label than the brand had planned for โ€” which is exactly why we do not charge you for a custom die.

The nine major allergens must be declared, either within the ingredient list or in a “Contains” statement immediately after it. A recall over a missing allergen line is not a printing problem, but it starts as one โ€” and it is the single thing we most often ask a customer to double-check before we go to press.

Format and type sizes are prescribed, and the panel does not scale down gracefully. If your label is small, the panel drives your minimum label size โ€” not your logo. Send us the panel early and we will tell you the smallest label it will legally fit on.

Manufacturer, packer or distributor, with a street address unless the firm is listed in a current directory. Cheap to include, easy to forget, and a reprint if you do.

CHOOSE YOUR MATERIAL BY WHERE THE LABEL LIVES

Food labels fail in ways cosmetic labels never do โ€” condensation, oil migration, freezer burn, dishwashers. Pick for the environment first and the look second.

Material: white BOPP film  |  Adhesive: permanent, wet-apply tolerant

Paper wicks condensation and lifts at the edges within days. Film does not.

Material: BOPP  |  Adhesive: freezer-grade, applies down to −20°C

Standard adhesive goes brittle and releases at the corner. Freezer-grade stays put.

Material: BOPP  |  Adhesive: high-tack  |  Finish: matte or gloss laminate

Oil migrates under a weak adhesive and greys the paper from behind.

Material: paper  |  Adhesive: wash-off

Comes away cleanly in a caustic wash so the bottle goes back into rotation.

Material: uncoated or semi-gloss paper  |  Adhesive: permanent

Nothing is attacking the label, so you can choose purely on feel and print.

CUSTOM SHAPE AND QUANTITY

Any size you like at no extra charge โ€” round, oval, or square with the corner radius you picked. Custom die-cut shapes are available for a low fee, so an unusual outline is affordable rather than free.

MADE-TO-MEASURE, WITHOUT THE HEFTY PRICE TAG

Send us the container, or its diameter and height, and we will send back the largest label that will apply cleanly with room for the wrap overlap. If your nutrition panel is fixed, tell us โ€” that is usually the constraint that decides the size.

FIND YOUR PRODUCT

A food label competes on a shelf against forty others at arm’s length. Finish is how you win the second glance.

  • Foil stamping โ€” a metallic hit that catches the light and reads as premium before a word is read
  • Embossing and debossing โ€” texture the customer feels when they pick the jar up
  • Spot UV โ€” gloss against matte, so one element steps forward without adding a colour
  • Holographic โ€” vivid, dynamic colour shifts that shimmer and move under light
  • Matte and gloss laminate โ€” scratch protection and water resistance, plus the finish you want
  • Clear “no-label look” โ€” the product does the talking, the label disappears

Every effect needs its own 100% K spot layer, named for the effect, sitting above your artwork. Keep foil and spot UV off small type โ€” under 8pt they fill in and read as a smudge. Send the layered file, not a flattened preview.

THE FIVE THINGS THAT SEND FOOD LABELS BACK TO PRESS

If the jar goes into a fridge warm and comes out cold, condensation forms under the label edge before the adhesive has fully keyed. Apply to a dry container at room temperature and give it 24 hours before chilling. If your process cannot allow that, tell us and we will specify a wet-apply adhesive instead.

Oil does not attack the face of a label, it creeps underneath and greys it from behind. On anything with a fat or oil content that might touch the outside of the container โ€” hot sauce, nut butter, infused oil โ€” go film with a high-tack adhesive. Uncoated paper will look tired within a month.

The panel has prescribed minimum type sizes and does not shrink to fit. On small jars it is routinely the single element that sets your minimum label dimensions. Lay the panel out first, then design the front around whatever is left.

A flat label on a tightly curved jar will always lift at the leading and trailing edge. Below about 55mm diameter, keep the label height down or move to a conformable film. Send us the diameter and we will tell you the safe maximum.

Ingredient lists and allergen statements are set small by necessity. Build them in 100% K, never a four-colour black โ€” a rich black on 6pt type registers as fuzz. This one detail is the difference between a legible ingredient panel and a reprint.

ARTWORK READY? YOUR GUIDE TO PERFECT FOOD LABELS
  • File format โ€” PDF, AI or EPS with fonts outlined
  • Resolution โ€” raster images at least 350 DPI at final size, no upscaling
  • Colour โ€” CMYK; supply Pantone references for brand colours
  • Bleed โ€” 3mm on all sides
  • Safe area โ€” keep type 3mm inside the die line
  • Small text โ€” 100% K only, 6pt minimum
  • Die line โ€” a separate spot layer named DIE, not part of the artwork

Send it anyway. Free prepress means a person checks every one of the points above and sends you a written report before we print โ€” and revisions are free too. Nobody has ever been charged here for supplying a file that needed work.
